I don't defend the position of Aztlan. I don't think the United States should cede up to 30 percent of its land back to Mexico. Everything you wrote before the above was fact. As a non-Euro-American, I don't think that most Latino-Americans want their newly adopted country to be a part of the country they just left. I don't have anything more substantive than that. And I take offense to being called "Mr. Know-It-All." I'm hardly that. Like Letterman told O'Reilly, "I don't know what I'm talking about, but I don't think you do, either."

Rational people rely on facts. In 1960, the U.S. population was 88.6 percent white. In 1990, it was only 75.6 percent white. Combined with low birth rates among whites, this drop of 13 percentage points in as little as 30 years has been exacerbated by illegal immigration, creating a situation in CA, AZ, NM, and TX where the Latino population already stands at greater than 25% with at least 2 additional states (NV and CO) rapidly approaching that number. At current rates, it is estimated that the proportion of whites nationally could fall as low as 61 percent by 2020. As Latinos become a majority, the only question left with respect to Aztlan is one of intent, and seeing as the United States does little to promote assimilation, it creates an environment where views like that of Ricky Sierra of the Chicano National Guard, who has been quoted as saying, "We're recolonizing America. . . . It's time to take back what is ours," are able to take root and provide a foundation for action that is not in the best interest of the integrity of U.S. borders as we know them. So, if there's a reason Euro-Americans shouldn't be scared, or at least concerned, I'd be delighted to hear it. (Something substantive, please.)

By and large, I agree with your views. What's really scary are the number of illegals who are already here. Combined with the fact that the birth rates of Euro-Americans have plummeted, that group will be a minority in the very near future--which means if something isn't done about the immigrant issue now we won't be in any position whatsoever to dictate terms and they might wind up getting just what they want--viz., Aztlan.
